Mitzi joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC in August, 2004, after serving as a Senior Conversion Manager at ADP TotalSource in Miami, Florida. Her 25+ years of experience includes work in the following areas: Plan mergers, terminations and conversions, plan design consultation and legal compliance, discrimination testing for Defined Contribution plans, preparation of annual reporting and disclosure, and implementation of new employee benefit plans. While at ADP TotalSource, Mitzi played a key role in consulting assignments for professional firms and other plans sponsors converting to the ADP TotalSource 401(k) Multiple Employer Plan. In addition, she helped clients in correcting plan violations, and provided technical support for in-house and outside sales teams. Prior to joining ADP TotalSource, Mitzi was a Manager of the pension consulting team with MetLife, Inc. Her role emphasized the conversion of new clients coming into MetLife, Inc. and the underwriting process to determine client service level. At QPC, Mitzi's role is working with our largest and most complex clients with ongoing plan administration. She also assists management with some of the ongoing training responsibilities. As of September, 2009, Mitzi obtained her Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent designation (ERPA), and so she is admitted to practice before the IRS.
Don joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC (QPC) in September 2006 as a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant. His responsibilities at QPC include the ongoing administration, compliance, and documentation services for our larger and more complex clients. Abbie joined Qualified Plan Consultants in October 2006 as a Retirement Plan Consultant after graduating from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Finance and International Business. Abbie's responsibilities include day-to-day plan administration, compliance, and plan document services for a diverse group of retirement plan clients. She is currently working towards her QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) professional designation sponsored by ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries).
Darla joined QPC in January, 2007 as a Retirement Plan Consultant. She has over 14 years of experience working with retirement plans. Her responsibilities include day to day administration for an assigned block of clients, plan design assistance, compliance, and plan document services. Prior to joining QPC, Darla held a similar position with a local third party administration firm. Before that, she worked for The Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, Iowa in the Contract Compliance and Defined Contribution Administrative divisions for 12 years. She is working towards her QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) professional designation sponsored by ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries). Darla holds an Associate of Arts Degree, with an emphasis on Psychology, from Marshalltown Community College.
Chelsey joined QPC in June 2007 as an adminstrative Assistant and Receptionist, located in our Des Moines, IA office. Her responsibilities include answering incoming phone calls, greeting guests, handling incoming and outgoing faxes, filing, entering new client information into our databases, and preparing marketing materials and new client binders. She also assists staff with numerous projects as needed. Prior to joining QPC, Chelsey worked in Financial Services, Sales, and Customer Service.
Senior Retirement Plan Consultant Tammy joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC (QPC) in December, 2007 as a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant. She has over 10 years of experience working with retirement plans including both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Plans. Her responsibilities include compliance, document services, and administration for our clients. Tammy is a designated member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and has earned professional designations as a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA). She is currently working toward her Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation. Tammy graduated from Dana Prior to joining QPC, Tammy held similar positions with regional and national third party administration firms in
Deyann joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC (QPC) in September, 2008, as a Document Specialist/Account Coordinator II. Her responsibilities at QPC include processing plan distributions and loans, in addition to assisting with plan document reviews and restatements. Deyann has over 20 years of professional experience working with qualified retirement plans. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and has her CPA certification. Prior to joining QPC, Deyann was a Trust Officer and Assistant Vice President for U.S. Bank’s Institutional Trust and Custody division. Deyann’s extensive background in qualified retirement plans includes plan administration, document preparation and participant recordkeeping.
Kyle joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC (QPC) in September 2008 as an Account Coordinator. Kyle recently graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Business Finance and Business Management. Kyle’s responsibilities include assisting with the daily administration of qualified plans, including distributions, compliance testing, and government reporting. Additional duties include assisting Retirement Plan Consultants, calculating contribution and allocations, and monitoring loans. Prior to joining QPC, Kyle had experience in Banking and Accounting.
MELISSA RYAN, QKA Administration Manager / Senior Retirement Plan Consultant Melissa is the Administration Manager and a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant with the firm. She has over 16 years of experience working with retirement plans. She is responsible for administration, compliance, and plan document services for our clients, as well as managing a group of employees. Melissa holds a Bachelors degree from Iowa State University. Prior to joining QPC, Melissa was responsible for plan documents, compliance and administration for 401(k), profit sharing, and money purchase plans with a third party administrator in Spokane, Washington for 10 years. She also served as an Administrator and Trainer in divisions handling 401(k) plans with The Principal Financial Group.
KEITH LOWERY Retirement Plan Consultant Keith joined Qualified Plan Consultants, LLC (QPC) in March 2009 as a Retirement Plan Consultant. His responsibilities at QPC include daily plan administration, plan design, compliance, and consulting services. Prior to joining QPC, Keith worked for Principal Financial Group, a global financial company, for eleven years. Included in his experience is seven years of Defined Contribution plan administration. Keith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central College majoring in Business Management.
LORENZ HASANRetirement Plan ConsultantLorenz joined QPC in April, 2009 as a Retirement Plan Consultant. His responsibilities include day to day administration for an assigned block of clients, plan design assistance, compliance, and plan document services. Lorenz graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Finance and Business Management. Prior to joining QPC, Lorenz worked for Hewitt Associates LLC, and the Aon Consulting Group, in Chicago, IL. His prior experience includes retirement plan administration and health & welfare administration. He is currently working towards his QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) professional designation sponsored by ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries).
