MICHAEL (MICK) FOUTS Co-Founder
Mick co-founded Qualified Plans Consultants, LLC (QPC) in 2003 and has over 15 years of experience working with retirement plans. He is primarily responsible for the firms’ marketing and sales efforts which entails calling on a variety of networks and developing relationships with investment advisors, investment companies, wire houses, banks, and independent broker-dealers.
Mick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westmar College, LeMars, Iowa, with a double major in Finance and Economics and a minor in Business Management.
Prior to starting QPC, Mick held a similar position with a local third party administration firm. Prior to that, he worked as a Pension Marketing Consultant at WellMark Capital Value, a former division of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Iowa, in Des Moines, Iowa. He also served as an Administration Specialist at The Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa, in a division that primarily handled 401(k) and other qualified retirement plans.
TOM LASTUVKA, QKA Co-Founder
Tom co-founded Qualified Plans Consultants, LLC (QPC) in 2003 and has over 18 years of experience working with retirement plans. He is responsible for the firms’ day-to-day operations, including employee management, administration, compliance, consulting, and with marketing the firm's services in eastern Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota.
Tom has earned his Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) professional designation sponsored by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), and is currently working towards his Certified Plan Financial Consultant (CPFC) designation. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, with a major in Finance.
Prior to starting QPC, Tom held a similar position with a local third party administration firm. Before that, he worked as a financial planner and Registered Representative with Waddell & Reed in Des Moines, Iowa. He also served as an Administration Specialist, Training Specialist, Assistant Manager, and Manager at The Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa, in Defined Contribution administration divisions that handled 401(k), 403(b), 457 and nonqualified retirement plans.
CORBON KINNEY New Business Manager
Corbon joined Qualified Plan Consultants in April 2007 as the New Business Manager. He is responsible for the internal oversight of all new retirement plan business to the firm, including plan design, plan transition, document drafting services, and sales and marketing support.
Corbon graduated from Iowa State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and spent 4 years as a middle school teacher and coach. Prior to joining QPC, he worked with qualified retirement plans at the Principal Financial Group and DeWaay Capital Management. He has a strong background in client transition management, underwriting, and marketing.
